Dr. Jatin Shah was born in Ramsgate, in the United Kingdom, and subsequently completed his schooling and medical degree in Mumbai, India.
He obtained his MBBS, followed by MD and DGO from the Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, in January 1990.
He received the Dr. Adi Dastur Gold Medal (1st rank in practical) and Dr. V.N. Purandare Gold Medal (1st rank in theory).
During his graduation days, he co-authored the “Photographic Atlas of gynecologic and obstetric operative techniques” with Dr. Shashank V Parulekar.
He was closely associated with the IVF program from its inception through the birth of India’s first test-tube baby at the KEM Hospital and the Institute for Research in Reproduction.
His family also supports the clinic, including his daughter, Hima Shah (chief embryologist with 14+ years of experience), and his son, Dr. Dharam Shah (gold medalist in Obstetrics/Gynecology and a reproductive medicine specialist).

Professional Background
Dr. Shah trained under pioneers of IVF in India, including Dr. Indira Hinduja (clinician) and the late Dr. T.C. Anand Kumar (embryologist), who were involved in the birth of India’s first test-tube baby.
Dr. Shah established the Mumbai Fertility Clinic & IVF Center in 1994 and later expanded to other states, including Kerala in 1996, as well as Pune, Agra, Madurai, and Chennai.
He has performed key IVF procedures, including ultrasonography, embryology work, and embryo transfer, which have contributed to over 20,000 infertile couples achieving parenthood.
He has additional training in advanced techniques like ICSI (from Singapore) and vitrification/IVM (from South Korea).
